The Story
Deer, I’ve Been Dreamin’ is the brainchild of avid sportsman, Joshua Coursey. In 2008 the “offseason” anticipation was too much for him. In an attempt to fight off, or perhaps embrace, the feverish convulsions caused from hunting withdrawals, he began daydreaming about the monster deer that survived the previous year’s hunt. Before he knew it, a little rhyme was ricocheting around his skull, twenty minutes later Deer, I’ve Been Dreamin’ was born. The fever subsided for a brief moment before returning with the realization that his missed harvest opportunity was the cause of a sickness that would last for at least another year!
The infancy of Deer I’ve Been Dreamin’ lasted until November, 2010 at which time the insanely ill hunter infected his brother, T. Emmett Bramwell. With lyrics in hand, the duo joined the words to music, fitting Joshua’s rhyme into a simple guitar progression, adding some thematic vocals just for kicks. Presto!
